Female HRT Patient – Clinical Overview

FEMALE PATIENT
Acceptance Criteria:
HRT Doctors Group only accepts female patients over the age of 30 that exhibit symptoms of hormone imbalance. Female conditions and symptoms vary widely and must be considered in conjunction with the results of a full array of female wellness lab results. Lab testing is most informative if the blood collection date is on day 21 of a menstrual cycle, but we can accept collection dates between day 5 and 23. All renewal labs and re-tests will be done on day 21. Patients using a hormone-based birth control must cease that treatment at least 2 weeks before lab testing. Hormone-based birth control medication cannot be used in conjunction with our treatment programs. Any pre-menopausal patient in our care may use non-hormonal birth control methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

Treatment Goals:
Our treatment goal for women is to restore normal hormone levels and correctly time peaks of Estrogen and Progesterone. Positioning these peaks correctly within a 28-day cycle will have the secondary effect of restoring normal peaks and levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH).

Common Symptoms:
• Weight Gain
• Muscle Loss
• Poor Sleep
• Anemia
• Low Libido
• Mood Swings and Anxiety
• Night Sweats
• Vaginal Dryness and Atrophy

Hormone Peaks and Timing Goals:
Our Patient Care Team will provide each female patient with a treatment calendar customized to their current hormone profile and designed to achieve a day-14 Estrogen and Testosterone peak, a day-21 Progesterone peak, an Estrogen luteal sub-peak on day-21, and gradual ramp ups and downs to each of these peaks. Desired outcomes include the elimination or reduction of symptoms related to female hormone deficiencies or imbalances, and improved tissue and cognizant health.

Female Treatment Protocols:

Female Balance
This treatment plan is for women at any stage of life that need improved hormonal peaks and peak timing to balance the roles of Estrogen and Progesterone in their body on a monthly basis. Dosing is biorhythmic, and our patient care team will work with the patient to create a customized calendar so they know exactly how much cream to apply, and which type, each day of the month.
• Estradiol Cream 10mg/mL
• Progesterone Cream 200 mg/mL Topi-Click 30mL

A metered dispenser of bio-identical Estradiol cream is used to treat twice daily on the upper torso. Daily dosing is variable and designed to reinforce the appropriate timing of the estrogen peak in a healthy female menstrual cycle. Care should be taken for at least two hours after treatment to avoid contact of the treated areas with men or male children to reduce the risk of progesterone transference. A metered dispenser of bio-identical Progesterone cream is used to treat twice daily on the thighs or buttocks starting on the 15th day of the menstrual cycle and continuing until your period begins. Daily dosing is variable and designed to reinforce the appropriate timing of the progesterone peak in a healthy female menstrual cycle. Care should be taken for at least two hours after treatment to avoid contact of the treated areas with men or male children to reduce the risk of hormone transference.

Female Balance Plus
This treatment plan is the same as Female Balance, but with the addition of a low dose of Testosterone added to the Estrogen cream for women that test low for testosterone. Low testosterone levels in women pose the same health hazards as they do for men. The testosterone in this plan helps support bone, tissue, and sexual health.

Female Dominance Plus
This treatment plan is intended for women that present symptoms and lab results that indicate an imbalance between the Estrogen and Progesterone in their bodies. This is known as Estrogen Dominance. For pre-menopausal women this can be particularly problematic, causing sever PMS symptoms, incomplete menstruation, and inconsistent period timing and duration. In this formula 80% of the Estradiol is replaced with Estriol, a less potent estrogenic hormone that is more easily metabolized by the body, helping to get Estrogen and Progesterone levels more closely aligned. Testosterone is also included at low dosage to support bone, tissue, and sexual health.
